We are happy to tell you about the African American Historical Association of Fauquier County Virginia! Here is the website AAHA It is an organization who has a goal of helping the area to collect, maintain and celebrate the African American history. We at Pixologie Digital Solutions had the joy of helping to digitize many videos of events over the years. Such a variety of life. Martin Luther King’s Birthday events, Holiday events, honoring Veterans day! We also were able to digitize microcassette tapes of interviews of members of the community to help them collect the history of the library of human experience.
With doing this work for them, we made clips of speakers and veterans sharing their military history. The organization can now set up displays with video of veterans from a certain war, a certain veterans stories over the years of sharing… Once digitized they can share the clips with whoever they want easily without the fear of the loss of the VHS tape. The tapes were degrading and now digitized that loss of quality has stopped. It is secured for the future.
This is a historical association, but each family has a collective history also. We can help you secure history, your memories for future generations. My favorite part about AAHA is their deep respect for the Veterans. They give them a place to come together, to share their stories and feel proud of their contribution to the security of our country. AAHA is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 am to 3 pm. If you need help with genealogy, there are some amazing genealogists, a library of local history and now some fantastic digitized speeches and interviews!
