On the 11th of November, 2018 we celebrate Veterans Day and commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the end of the First World War. On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the guns fell silent along the Western Front, ending the First World War. A War that had claimed the lives of some 9 to 11 million military personnel and approximately another 8 million civilians.
Veterans Day and the 100th Anniversary of the end of the Great War have special meaning for the team here at Pixologie Digital Solutions. Not only is PixDS is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, with our Chief Executive Officer, James Overbye, a proud 30 year Veteran, but the first work we ever did as a company was to assist the Freedom Museum in Manassas in obtaining a photo of a local veteran hero from World War I, CPT Sylvester Epps. The story can be found here.
Thinking now that CPT Epps service in the First World War was over a hundred years ago, truly allows one to see the power that pictures have to connect across the generations. A hundred years is a long time, but when you look at the picture of CPT Epps, you see a photo of a young man with his entire life ahead of him, forever frozen in time. We are proud of service of each and every Veteran in our community, and even prouder that PixDs has been able to assist in telling the story of CPT Epps, and many other Veterans.
We like to say that every photo has a story, and we at PixDS would be honored if you would allow us to assist you in telling yours or your family’s story.
